Ratings for teachers...
There should be a website for parents/guardians to post legitimate comments (good or bad ) of their child's teacher at the end of the school year. So in the next grade you have a feel for your child's next teacher. Yes, I AM PRO-TEACHERS...really...but this makes good sense. For one, a child is placed with a teacher by chance, or availability of room, or by "evening out" the ratio of boys to girls. Teachers aren't a 'string paper dolls' and neither are children. There are overly sensitive children and very strong-willed children and the same with teachers. We can now choose our 'school of choice' but not know a single thing about the teachers inside. Forget about taking your child out of the class once the school has placed your child. I raised 4 children through many, many teachers (well over 48 teachers for 12 grades each child!) and only came across one really bad apple- a horrible woman -who almost destroyed my 3rd grader. I am now raising my 8 year old grandson, and he also was placed with a horrible woman for a teacher two years ago (1st grade). I'm much wiser and stronger this round! She "retired" to another school directly after- and I cringe when thinking of her new tiny students. I think teachers should be paid by their performance, instead of blind faith. I would think a teacher would like to to see great things written up about their work, for all to see, and work out the negatives. A person is afforded background info/ratings on individual doctors, hospitals, hamburger joints, e-bay sellers, dog groomers....and nothing on teachers.
