I am not sure how possible is that, but with todays level of chemestry and biology I think it's time to start thinking about this: why don't people design sort of a biological power supplies. Like primitive organs which would provide heat or some mechanical movement if you give it some "energy bar" -like artifitial muscle or something.
Looking at how much energy human's body can produce - i think it does make sence to work in this area...
